We recommend that you always use a soap calculator to calculate the lye/water ratio for your recipes and formulas. We have several soap recipes here for you to enjoy. These recipes were written by Sally Trew.

Basic Soap Recipe:

This is a good basic recipe to start with. It's simple and yet makes a really nice

 bar of soap.

Castor Oil   10%

Coconut Oil  20%

Shea Butter  10%

Palm oil   60%

Please use the SoapCalc to calculate your water/lye solution.

Red Palm Butter Soap

Cocoa Butter          10%

Shea Butter            12%

Coconut Oil (76 degree)  21 %

Red Palm Butter   14 %

Palm Oil       30 %

Olive Oil     6 %

Castor Oil   7 %

Please use a Soap Calc to calculate your own water/lye solution. IF your soap calc does

not list Red Palm Butter you can calculate the lye by adding palm oil as the red palm

butter percent.  So I put palm oil in twice. Their SAP is the same. http://www.soapcalc.com/calc/soapcalc.asp

Surprisingly after this bar has cured out it bubbles a lot more and is harder then I thought it would be. Very nice on mature skin.

Teenage Acne Soap - This bar must sit and cure for at least 3 months before it is used.

Before you start, this soap will get HARD in the mold very quickly and needs to be cut 6-8 hours AFTER it is poured. Be sure to wear protective gloves while you unmold and cut because the lye will still be active.

Coconut Oil    60%

Cocoa Butter  10%

Palm Oil         30%

Use the Soapcalc for your own water/lye solution.
